14 Months

Sara Kate, you are 14 months old! What have you been up to?
(Monthly stickers are back, yay!! I went back and added pictures with month stickers to your 13 month post HERE. Oh, and you were anti-smile during our picture time today. That's ok, you're still cute.)
- School is still going great. Some days you cry when I leave and some days you don't, although it seems the clinging to mommy is becoming a little more frequent. You like to carry your lunch box in to school and when we get to your classroom, you hand it to your teacher. Such a big girl! Your schedule at school looks a little something like this: breakfast between 8 and 8:30 (either oatmeal mixed with fruit or some plain poptart and yogurt), you have about 5 oz of milk with your breakfast, nap time is sometime between 9 and 11 and usually lasts about an hour an a half, lunch is around noon (depends on what I have at home, either a veggie and fruit, or a cheese sandwich or fruit) and you have water with lunch, your afternoon nap is sometime between 1 and 3 and can be as short as 45 minutes or as long as an hour and a half, you have 5 or 6 oz of milk after your nap, and then daddy (or me) comes and picks you up! You are about to switch to part time for the summer! - You are drinking whole milk at school but still refuse it at home. You also aren't a fan of juice. If you are at home, you prefer water. - You are eating lots of different things, and you expect something off our dinner plates every night. Some things you love include spaghetti (or any pasta with a tomato based sauce on it), grilled cheese sandwiches, grapes, strawberries, and macaroni and cheese (had this today for the first time and loved it). You still like sweet potato and zucchini quite a bit. You love any kind of bread, and that includes crackers. You are becoming a little more opinionated about what you eat. Some nights you like something but the next night you may refuse it. If you don't like or want something you take it out of your mouth and hand it to us (preferred and try to get you to do) or throw it on the floor (ugh!!). That is also an indication you are finished, if you start taking bites out of your mouth. - You are a great sleeper. During the week you go to bed around 9 and have been waking up around 6:30. On the weekend you go to bed between 9 and 10 and wake up anywhere between 6:30 and 8. I think getting light so early in the morning has affected your sleeping in! - You are pulling up on everything and are cruising around all the furniture. You can stand by yourself for a bit, and at times it looks like you want to take a step by yourself. You like to walk with your push walker and with holding fingers. All your little friends in your class at school are walking so you better start soon or you'll get left behind! :-) You are also doing this funny little crab walk/crawl, with your hands on the ground while you walk on your feet. - You have your top left 'fang' tooth, and your top 2 teeth seem very close to breaking the skin. You are teething like crazy right now...you are drooling an insane amount and you tend to cry out a little more during the night when your teeth are bothering you.
- Your favorite toys right now are your blocks or anything you can put into and take out of a bag. This includes taking clothes out of your laundry basket and putting them back in. You also love books and we keep a stack down low in your room. You like to bring one to daddy and crawl into his lap to read it. - You love bath time and are very particular about lining your bath toys up on the side of the tub. You also like to throw things off the side (ugh!!). - You learned how to play peek-a-boo and you think it's hilarious!! - You LOVE playing the piano with daddy!! You like to pull up onto the bench and bang on the keys yourself, too. This is definitely going to be a new struggle at church...you're going to see daddy on the piano and are going to want to go 'play' with him. - You love going on walks in your stroller, although lately it just lull's you to sleep! - You've learned a few new words lately. You're vocabulary includes mama, dada, hi, bye-bye, uh-oh, Poppa, and baba (can mean bath or baby). You say something like dadum all the time. The other night you were saying that and pointing to all kinds of stuff. I wonder if it means 'that one.' You said something that sounded like 'thank you' earlier today. You like to imitate the syllables we say in your baby babble. You can be so chatty when you want to be!!
- You are in 12 month clothes. Some 12 months clothes are still big (Carter's) and some fit pretty good (Jumping Bean). You can still wear some 9 month clothes. All your jammies are 12 months and the pants are all big...you've even learned to take them off!

- You are in size 3 diaper. We tried size 4 recently but it seemed really big so we put you back in 3's.

- You STILL wear a size 2 shoe. You have tiny little feet!

- You can be SUCH a ham and you just crack us up sometimes. You're little personality is really coming through and it's so cute. I love watching you learn new things or watch your mind work trying to figure things out. You are so beautiful and so precious to me. I love you, sweet pea!!
