6 Month Appointment

Today Sara Kate had her 6 month doctor appointment. Here are her 6 month stats:

Weight: 17 lb., 12 oz. (75th percentile)
Height: 25.2 inches (25th percentile)
Head Circumference: 16.7 inches (50th percentile)

I just looked back at her 4 month stats and she was in the 90th percentile for weight, 60th percentile for height, and 60th percentile for head circumference. The doctor said that breast fed babies tend to slow down in weight gain during the 6-12 month time frame. And apparently she's a little shorty at the moment. But he said you can measure the height of babies 5 times in a row and get 5 different measurements because they are wiggle worms. And we all know our girl is a squirmy worm!!
Waiting to be called back...happy girl!
Getting height checked
Getting weighed
Then we waited for the doctor to come in. While we waited, we hung out with daddy and read a book!
The doctor checked her out...
He listened to her heart, her chest, her ears and throat got checked out, and her hips and abdomen examined.
Then came the not so fun part...
The oral vaccine and 2 shots in each leg...
Poor baby cried hard this time! It got to me a little bit today! In addition to her 3rd round of shots, she got a flu shot. She's supposed to go back in the next 30 days for a booster. She's perfectly healthy, and we're doing everything we are supposed to do as her parents to help her grow! Thankfully! :-) We can start solids any time, starting with rice cereal, which we may give that a shot this weekend.
Her battle wounds
This is what I think about the doctor, mom!
And I think this is funny...I noticed this sign as we were leaving last time. Ha!!
