Looking back at her 6 month stats, she was in the 75th percentile for weight, 25th percentile for height, and 50th percentile for head circumference. Once again the doctor mentioned breast fed babies gain less in the 6-12 month time frame as compared to the first 6 months of life. This appointment was primarily to check her iron levels, and it was a blood draw from her big toe. She did great with the original prick, then when they put the tube up to collect she got a little fussy. After 5 minutes the results were back, and her iron levels fell right in the middle of where they should be...think the nurse said 34-40 was average and hers was at 36. So yay! She wasn't supposed to get any shots, but we never got her the booster for her flu shot so she got that, but she did great. The doctor checked her out as well and said she's perfectly healthy and to keep doing what we've been doing. Well actually she's not perfectly healthy...she apparently has bronchiolitis. She's had a cough, congestion, and a rattling in her chest for a week (which had me a little concerned), and after listening to her chest he said that's what she has. He said it was a little virus and it would run it's course. I had him check her ears too because after my bad ear problems as a child I'm just convinced that she's going to have problems, but so far so good. She had a little fluid in one ear but it wasn't infected. As far as being sick, she acts fine, although her eating and sleeping has been quite off the last week. As of yesterday it seems like we're getting back on track there. Unfortunately I have no pictures to document her 9 month appointment because I was there with her by myself. Kind of hard to do everything they needed me to do and take pictures at the same time. Oh well.
What else have we been up to? Well, I mentioned Sara Kate's sleeping has been off and I think she was just getting into a habit of crying in the night and needing me to rock her back to sleep. We also stopped the nighttime swaddle, which may have had something to do with it. But after a very rough Friday night, we decided to let her cry it out on Saturday night (which was hard) and after one crying episode of 30-40 minutes, she was over it and slept the rest of the night. Last night she cried about 5-10 minutes one time and slept the rest of the night, along with sleeping in until 8:30 this morning!!!! Go Sara Kate!! So maybe we are moving back in the right direction there. When I went to get her this morning she was just hanging out in her crib playing and talking to herself. She had also wiggled herself into the corner. Silly girl.
In other Sara Kate news, she's still thisclose to crawling. You will all be surprised when I can actually post that she's crawling. Ha! She's getting on to both knees and bouncing fast. She tries to move her hands forward and she doens't get moving her knees forward so she slides onto her belly.

Going from sitting to knees
Can move hands but not knees so she slides onto her belly She is a PRO at moving backwards, though!!! One night I went to the bathroom and she had backed herself all the way to the back door. And she was mad because she couldn't go any further. Nice!
Anybody want to see a little more cuteness? Ok!! :-)
Giving kisses
And here's one more. After looking at this picture, I don't think she looks like me at all! And I don't think she looks like Chris, although I see little things where she resembles him, like her chin and her thumbs. I guess she's just a perfect mix of the 2 of us, and that's just fine.
She was being silly but we could not get her to smile for the camera!
We are forecasted to get a major winter storm tonight, and of course, I'm supposed to start my new job tomorrow. They are talking ice plus 6-10 inches of snow. Fantastic.

To answer a comment here and question there, unfortunately, I'm not moving to Fayetteville. I'll still be in Bentonville, but I'm actually going back to my old office, which we had move out of when I was on maternity leave last year. I'm really excited about that. I'm going to work for the Benton County Conservation District. I'll be doing a similar job, in that I'll still be writing nutrient management plans for farmers, but it'll be in a different part of Benton County and I'll get additional training with NRCS (federal agency) along with working closely with them, which is a great foot in the door (possibly). I wasn't looking for another job, but this opportunity literally fell into my lap. I'm a believer of things happen for a reason, and I felt this was an opportunity I had to take. So that's the story! So if I get a snow day on my first day of a new job, maybe I'll try and post tomorrow! :-) Would that be some kind of weird omen or something? Ha! And if I don't get a snow day but the weather is bad, pray for safe travels to the office!!
