New Tricks

Hey, ya'll. It's me, Sara Kate. I thought I'd get on here and tell ya'll about a couple new tricks I have learned!! My mom keeps putting the camera in my face to capture these things, and I don't quite understand it, but I guess I will one day. First, I'll start off by saying that I love my feet!
I think they are so interesting. I love to grab them while I'm getting my diaper changed (and mom keeps pushing them down for some reason), or in the tub, or sitting in my chair, and now I learned that I can put them in my mouth!! Mom saw me do it for the first time the other night before I got my bath. I was just laying there hanging out, and she made dad go get the camera and she was snapping away!
Yep, so that's my first trick. I know, I'm so cool!! Now, for trick number 2. I learned how to ROLL!!!! That's right, you read right. It only took me 5 months and 3 weeks to figure that one out. Actually, Meme said I did it for the first time last weekend while mom and dad were watch my favorite team (the Razorbacks) play football. I didn't feel like doing it all week, even though mom and Meme tried to get me to do it again. Last night we were hanging at Meme's house and I decided I'd show off my stuff. It was the first time for mom and dad to see me roll, and mom was so excited and kept clapping and kissing me. Not sure what that's about. I heard Meme say something about maybe it was an accident last week and this week I figured it out. Then of course mom got her phone out to record me rolling.

So that's what I've been up to! Here are a few other cute pictures of me from this week!
So serious, even though I LOVE bath time!!
Before school on Wednesday...
Before school on Thursday...
And before school on Friday!
Guess I better get off here. I'm gonna play with mom for a bit and then have nap time...well at least that's what she told me. Then she said something about going to meet her friend and baby at the mall. Apparently she said I'm gonna be friends with baby Madelyn (she said we are only a month apart). Anyway, until next time, peace out!

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a GREAT weekend here in Northwest Arkansas, despite an absolutely heartbreaking Razorback loss. Why was it so great? Well because my best friend from back in the day (like 8th grade) came to visit and finally meet her 'niece!' She lives in Savannah, GA, and despite that we still try and see each other once a year. Last Labor Day weekend I flew to Savannah to visit, the year before that we traveled to Maine together, the year before that we traveled to Lake Tahoe together, the year before that Chris and I drove to Savannah, and the year before that is when we got married. You get the picture. :-) Anyway, we've been trying to plan this for a while now and we (thought) we had extra tickets to the Alabama game so it was gonna be the perfect time. Laura and Leslie got here Thursday at noon. We had lunch, went to the mall to get them Hog shirts, and then to the house so Laura could meet Sara Kate. How sweet that finally was!! We grilled out here at the house and just hung out.
For some reason, this is the only picture I took Thursday, but it's so sweet...
Friday we went ahead and took Sara Kate to school and decided to go to Eureka Springs for the day. We went to Thorncrown Chapel (which I had never been to before), the big Jesus statue (also known as the Christ of the Ozarks), and come to find out there's a winery in Eureka (we have a history in all our travels to do wine and beer tasting together).
Saturday was GAME DAY!!!!! We got up and hung around the house. Sara Kate played with Auntie Laura.
She had just woken up from a nap in this picture, and I think she looks like a little doll!
Then it was time to get ready. One of Sara Kate's teachers mom's (get all that? Ha!) made her this adorable dress and I couldn't wait to get her in it!! She looked ADORABLE!! We picked up some BBQ and headed to do a little tailgating. Chris' mom picked up Sara Kate while the rest of us went to the game. We almost weren't all able to go but at the last minute, we got a couple extra tickets thanks to our friends the Guthrie's. So it all worked out.
Tailgating wears me out!!
I have game pictures on my phone but I don't have time to load any up right now. The game was great, until the end. We were thisclose to beating the #1 team in the country. And really, Alabama didn't beat us, we beat ourselves. Hate when that happens, and it seems to happen alot to the Razorbacks...unfortunately! But we still had a great time. We ended up getting home late, eating left over BBQ and pretty much going to bed! Today was church, and we got a great surprise that our friends Jack and Erin were in town (they are our church friends who moved to San Antonio this spring). It was great to visit with them.
And a few more pics from church this morning...
We had lunch, the girls got packed, we wasted a little time, and unfortunately it was time to head to the airport. It's always sad to leave Laura but I feel so blessed to have the kind of forever friend that I found in her years ago. Love you, Laura!! And Sara Kate misses you and Leslie already! :-)

Time to finish up laundry and get ready for the week. I need a weekend to recover from my weekend...ha! Hope ya'll have a great week!

Our Saturday

I didn't think I would blog again this weekend but Chris took some great pictures yesterday so I thought I'd post some. We sat around the house yesterday morning, did some cleaning, hung out with the babe, and of course watched the Hogs WIN!! YAY!! Go Hogs!!! We then watched Ole Miss lose, well we watched the end of the game....YAY!!! Then we headed to Pinnacle to meet the rest of Chris' family at the mall. Bob, Sharon, Jenny, Jason, and Hannah were all there. It was hot and muggy, but we had a good time.
Aunt Jenny had Sara Kate smiling up a storm! It was so cute!
My beautiful blue eyed babe!
Hannah and her daddy...such a cute shot!
Hannah had fun throwing pennies into the fountain...
While Sara Kate watched...
Then both girls just looked at the fountain...
Then Meme decided to press her luck and see what Sara Kate would think of dipping her feet into the fountain...she did alright...
Then Poppa saved her...
But Hannah still thought it was super fun!
Then Chris got busted by the bike 'cops' at the mall for taking pictures of store fronts. He was actually taking a picture of the sun behind the mall. Chris said, you want me to delete it and the guy was like , I can't tell you what to do nor can I do anything. Then why say something?!?! Ridiculous! But we all got a good laugh out of it. My husband, the trouble maker! Ha! When we were heading out we saw this super crazy looking car. It was funny because all these other cars driving by were stopping to take it's picture, too. Maybe that's what the guy was going for.
Finally we all headed to Chick-Fil-A for dinner and then back home! Turned out to be a great day!
